GSO Test

Year Four

We have have three Year 4 classes at Riverside.

Children throughout the school are involved in the creative development of their Learning Challenge. Each week the children set themselves a smaller Learning Challenge question to help drive their learning forward.

The planned themes in Year 4 are outlined below. Due to the nature of the Learning Challenge Curriculum, these themes could change.

Term 1: Why were the Romans so powerful and what did we learn from them?

Term 2: Why does the Wye grow wider?

Term 3: Why should the Rainforest matter to us?

Term 4: Could you be Willy Wonka’s next apprentice?

Term 5: Do we still need lighthouses?

Term 6: Why would you invade and where would you settle?

The children have a daily phonics session using ‘Project X: CODE‘ and a daily literacy and numeracy session.

We follow the Nelson scheme of work for handwriting.
