Online Safety

The internet hosts many exciting opportunities for education.

The online world is a wonderful place for young people to explore, with extraordinary opportunities for learning and creativity. Still, just like the real world, there are risks and dangers they should be aware of and which we should all act to protect them from.

As a school, we encourage the use of technology as an important part of our pupils’ development but always want them to spend their time online safely.

So, how can you protect your child online?

The answer is simple.

If you understand the internet and the risks, there are a number of things you can do that will make your child safer online.

Here is a fantastic link to NSPCC's Keeping Children Safe Online workshop for parents and carers with information about how to support your child in their online world. Topics such as online bullying, mental health, and social media are discussed, as well as signposting to resources and organisations for help and support.

National Online Safety is full of great information for specific apps, websites and current issues. Some of their helpful guides are available to download below but please do look at their website to see the full range.
